There's something about an informal setting, great local food and drink, and gathering with like-minded friends. Our very first House Hootenanny last year was with Birds of Chicago. It sold out handily, for many it was their favorite event of the year, and the band was raving about how much fun they had. Whether touring as a duo or with the full family band, Jeremy Lindsay (JT & the Clouds) and Allison Russell (of Po' Girl fame) have emerged as two of the most compelling new voices in North American roots music. Lindsay's fractured country-soul voice, wrapped in Russell's silver and gold tones, is a fine thing. You'll hear echoes of mountain gospel, street corner doo-wop, and classic soul. A full-on folk celebration. The band has finished its Joe Henry-produced album, Real Midnight, which will be available by the time they hit Santa Fe.

DIRECTIONS: 56-B Paseo Nopal, Santa Fe, 87507. From St. Francis & Alameda, head 1.8 miles south on West Alameda to stop sign on Calle Nopal. Turn right up hill. At stop sign turn left & go 1/4 mile to 56-B. Enter driveway & veer to right.

From Albuquerque take 599 bypass, exit at Camino La Tierra/Calle Nopal Take right at the stop sign when exiting & go about 1/4 mile to 56-B.
