ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
Founder of the famous Reda Troupe, Mahmoud Reda has been an important influence on nearly all of the Egyptian choreographers, dancers and troupes working today. Over this series, we will explore the fun and challenging technique and combos of Mahmoud Reda.
Combining influences of ballet and ballroom dance together with traditional Egyptian movement vocabulary this series will get you moving on stage with grace and control.Students will learn essential, Reda-style combinations that will form the foundation for mini folkloric and oriental choreographies to come!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Amani Jabril's study with Master Mahmoud Reda began in the spring of 2006 when she traveled to Cairo, Egypt to intimately study the dance with the world renown instructor & choreographer and with Egypt's First Lady of Dance, Farida Fahmy. Amani is especially proud to be one among the first group of ten professional dancers to receive a teaching certificate in Egyptian dance from Mr. Reda.
Featured on the cover of the Mazaag debut album, Amani is an award winning choreographer and is currently teaching nationally with workshops scheduled around the United States. She was honored to have taught in 2011 and 2012 at the Amani Oriental Festival in Beirut, Lebanon and to have been invited to assistant teach during the 2011 US tour of Master Mahmoud Reda.
Awarded 2010 Best Newcomer by Nafoura International Bellydance Magazine, Amani has trained in dance and drama, and has studied and performed extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and North America. Amani Jabril has built her reputation as an adept instructor and an inspired performer on delivering stellar dance technique combined with the heart and soul of the Middle East.
