Ted Danson speaks about Oceana: Our Endangered Oceans
TED DANSON with CHIP GILLER Thursday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall Seattle Co-presented with OCEANA. A special evening is in store as Ted Danson, most known for his role as "Sam Malone" in the long-running television series Cheers, addresses a subject he has been devoted to for over twenty years: the fate of the world's oceans. He is here this evening for an illustrated talk, on-stage discussion with Chip Giller of Grist, and booksigning for his striking new book, Oceana: Our Planet's Endangered Oceans and What We Can Do to Save Them (Rodale). This book reflects decades of engagement giving voice to scientists, activists, and others who have been working on the huge array of issues facing the oceans and therefore us. Oceana is both the title of this important book, and the name of an important non-profit educational and advocacy organization covering these same concerns (www.na.oceana.org). Ted Danson is a passionate ocean advocate and a member of Oceana's board of directors. Tickets for this evening are $35 which includes a copy of Oceana, to be received at the talk- are available at Elliott Bay, or via www.brownpapertickets.com or 1.800.838.3006. Town Hall Seattle is at 1119 Eighth Avenue (entry on Seneca Street). For more information on this evening, please call Elliott Bay at 206.624.6600.
