SQUART! Into the Wild
Taking off from the reality tv competition format, SQUART! (short for spontaneous queer art) challenges performers to create work collaboratively in a highly limited period of time, aspiring to stimulate altered states of mind, body, and attitude. Now in it's second year SQUART has had over 100 participants; for this round, creator/choreographer Laura Arrington, Artist in Residence (AIR), offers three opportunities for you to engage:
1) Participate as a performer! Given the themes of "Retreat" and "Endurance," 40 participants will generate four original works on-site at Headlands over the course of 24 hours, beginning at 6PM on Saturday, March 26; email lauraarringtondance@gmail.com for details.
2) Witness the Creative Process! Visit Headlands between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon to see the works in development.
3) See the final product! The resulting pieces will be performed on Sunday, March 27 at 3PM for a live audience and panel of celebrity judges, including Jess Curtis, Ivo Dimchev, Keith Hennesy, and Meg Stuart.
