LIVE DVD OF PERFORMANCE IS NOW AVAILABLE! FOR MORE INFO, PLEASE VISIT: http://www.brianrohr.com/babayaga/Home.html
Please join Elastic Arts Foundation in presenting Northwest Storyteller and Chicago native Brian Rohr as we engage in one of the oldest acts known to humans: listening to the old stories as a community, shared in the ways of the oral tradition.
In his show, Eating Baba Yaga: Myths and Stories of Surviving the Extraordinary Life, Brian will invite the listener to that wild, gentle and fierce place that is known when confronting our Wyrd - the old concept of our own unique and personal life path - and see how, through compassion, cunning and grace, we can engage those parts of our lives that may seem to want to destroy us, but in fact want us to become the adults we were always meant to be.
Brian Rohr is a poet, storyteller and healing arts practitioner who resides in the Pacific Northwest - a land of constant rain, Evergreen trees, mountains and the waters of the Pacific Ocean. In 2007, Brian left his hometown of Chicago and moved to Port Townsend, WA to study with Mythologist and Master Storyteller Daniel Deardorff. Since that time, he has found his gift and his home. Brian is an active Board Member of the Mythsinger Foundation and has shared myth and stories from different cultures with national and international audiences. He fully believes that the old stories are alive, vital and can inform us on how to live our lives as authentic human beings. Brian is married to his beloved Sarah.
