Bruce Neyers founded Neyers Vineyards in 1991, but his career in Napa Valley began well before. After a brief stint in the army brought him from the East Coast to San Francisco with his wife Barbara in 1970, Bruce became interested in wine and decided to make the bay area his home. He worked at a French wine importing company in the city before moving to Mayacamas Winery in 1972. He then spent a year in Germany as an apprentice winemaker in 1974, followed by 17 years at Joseph Phelps Vineyards. While his experience with California winemaking is extensive, it is complemented by his work as the National Sales Manager for French and Italian importer Kermit Lynch. His relationships with producers in the Kermit Lynch portfolio, especially those practicing organic viticulture, have had an undeniable influence on the wines of Neyers Vineyards. Please join us at Spruce as we welcome Bruce Neyers, who will share his wines with us, paired with a special menu crafted by Chefs Mark Sullivan and John Madriaga.
