The Sports Salon with Art Thiel, All You Need to Know about the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay
The U.S. Golf Association stunned the sports world in 2008 with the selection of Chambers Bay, a new course in University Place, as the host of the 2015 U.S. Open which has been known for decades as the toughest test in the sport. The U.S. Open will be broadcast by FOX Sports on national and global TV eight hours a day for four days - the biggest sustained tourism infomercial in the region since the Seattle World's Fair in 1962. Art Thiel will be reporting live from the tournament, held June 18 through June 21, on how the world's best golfers fare in their first tournament encounters with Chambers Bay. Come hear Art's predictions on how Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, and new sensation Jordan Spieth, will finish!
Ben Wood, General Manager at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge and former pro golfer, will be here to join in the conversation. TPC Snoqualmie Ridge is offering a chance to win a round of golf for four (including a cart). Three Upswing Golf pitching wedges, courtesy of CodeSmart, and a pair of weekly passes to the Boeing Classic will be added to the drawing as well!
Art Thiel is longtime sports commentator for KPLU-FM and columnist for the late Seattle Post-Intelligencer. His digital sports news company, Sportspress Northwest, recently published his new book Russell Wilson: Standing Tall.
