8th Grade One Act Festival by Lake Washington Girls Middle School
Please join the Lake Washington Girls Middle School Class of 2015 as they present three one act plays...
How I Got That Part by Robert Pridham Auditioning for a part in the middle school play always induces pandemonium among one group of girls. This year, as their more mature seventh-grade selves, will they all feel confidence in their abilities -- or will they still be worrying about who has the most lines and getting cast as a dreaded gnome? From musical auditions to cast list heartbreak, they've been through the mill, and they're ready to talk about it.
15 Reasons Not To Be in a Play by Alan Haehnel This is a play about not being in a play, ironically expressed through a hilarious series of monologues, duets, and ensemble scenes. From early traumas involving a glory-seeking elementary school teacher to possible disturbances in the global climate, 15 Reasons Not To Be in a Play keeps the audience guessing just what scenario will be next.
The Rules of Comedy by Peter Bloedel The audience is given a side-splitting lesson in what's funny and what's not funny. In order to prove that the Rules of Comedy work, they are hilariously inserted into one of the most popular tragedies of all time: William Shakespeare's Hamlet. The Rules of Comedy is a physical comedy "blow-out" with an interesting twist that showcases the cast's ability to handle tragic drama, as well. Playing by the rules has never been so much fun.
