Jimmy's Cocktail Classics with Kings County Distillery
Come mingle, taste, and learn the tricks of the cocktail making trade at the next in this series of spirits sampling events at Jimmy's No. 43. This session of "Cocktail Classics" will feature Kings County Distillery, New York City's oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County makes handmade moonshine and bourbon at the 115-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Kings County uses New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to make distinctive whiskey. Kings County whiskeys have won numerous awards from the American Distilling Institute, the American Craft Spirits Association, and its bourbon was recently named #2 craft bourbon by Eric Asimov of the New York Times.
Proceeds from this event will support the programs and activities of non-profit Slow Food NYC, including Urban Harvest, the program that teaches New York City kids about good, clean, and fair food.
