The beauty of "Kaiseki"
"Kaiseki" is one of the styles of Japanese cuisine, a course style Japanese cuisine made of various seasonal ingredients and cooked by variety of cooking methods. With monthly theme based on Japanese culture, the Kaiseki chef, Hiro Tawara will serve you a beautiful and delicious 6 course Dinner including a dessert. The theme of May event will be Children's day (Boy's day) celebration. In Japan, we celebrate for children's (especially boy's) happiness and healthy on May 5 every year. We display "Kabuto (Armed Samurai) dolls and "Koinobori (Carp shaped flags)" and enjoy some special foods and sweets. You can learn and enjoy Japanese culture as well as the foods at this event.
The menu for May event will be:
Appetizer 1: Deep-water-shrimp Okizuke (marinated in sauce)
Appetizer 2: "Chimaki" shaped Sushi, Shaft feather shaped lotus and Broad Beans
Sashimi: Lightly roasted Bonite (First run of the season)
Yakimono (Grilled dish): Miso flavored grilled Hairtail and Roasted bamboo shoot in leaves Rice dish: Rice with eel and burdock root
Dessert: tansy flavored Bavarois
