Join AAC Sierra Nevada Section Members June 12-14 for climbing and fellowship atop the very awesome Donner Summit outside of Truckee, CA. Your Section is providing FREE camping and Saturday evening drinks and snacks at the camping site so have your camp chair and headlamp ready to hang out with the group!
Our camping location has been graciously offered by SNS Member, Bela Vadasz of Alpine Skills International this is an undeveloped property on Donner Pass and within easy walking distance superb granite crags.
$10 for AAC members and $15 for non-members.

DETAILS:
LOCATION: We will camp off Lake Mary Road just Southwest of and adjacent to the old ASI lodge (now Sugar Bowl Academy). It's right on top of Donner Pass on the South side of Old Highway 40. So if you're coming up the pass from the West, turn right immediately before the Sugar Bowl Academy parking lot, and if you're coming up from the East, turn left immediately after that parking lot. Parking will be along Lake Mary Road. Don't park in the Academy's lot. We'll have some small signs up. If you need more detailed directions just email or call (contact info below). Tent/bivi sites are scattered about a 25 to 50m walk from the road.
GROUP GEAR / FACILITIES: SNS will provide: a Wag Bag toilet system with privacy tent at the site, some community water containers. Bring your own: tent, chair, other camping gear, breakfast, lunch and dinner food, some water, climbing gear, and good cheer.
SCHEDULE: Friday June 13 through Sunday June 15. Arrive Friday evening (or whenever), climb Saturday and Sunday. Feel free to join us for the whole deal or just one day or just the party or whatever you can do. We'll be at the site from about 7 PM on Friday (maybe earlier). We don't climb as a big organized group; rather you can partner up if needed and head off on your own. I'm sure anyone needing a partner or beta on where/what to climb will find it from our group. Most climbs are within walking distance and there are fantastic routes for all abilities. Will gather Saturday evening around 6:00 pm for drinks and snacks.
RELEASE: Please note: CLIMBING IS ON YOUR OWN AND NOT ORGANIZED, LEAD OR GUIDED BY THE AAC OR THE EVENT ORGANIZERS. You are required to sign the online liability release form provided by the AAC (see link above) in order to climb and camp with us.
