Rhythm Future Quartet: Gypsy Jazz!
Occidental Center for the Arts is pleased to present Rhythm Future Quartet on tour from New York and Boston. Named after a Django Reinhart tune, the Rhythm Future Quartet performs dynamic and fiery arrangements of Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions. Four young jazz virtuosos are featured: Jason Anick on violin, Olli Soikkeli and Vinny Raniolo on guitars, and Greg Loughman on bass. Over the years they have individually been performing alongside notable musicians like John Jorgensen, Frank Vignola, Tommy Emmanuel, Bucky Pizzarelli, Andreas Oberg, Howard Alden. They have joined forces to form this talented group.

Bandleader Jason Anick and Finnish guitarist Olli Soikkeli as the lead soloists are 'rising stars' in the Gypsy jazz world. Violinist Anick is also an award-winning composer and Berklee College of Music instructor. Wall Street Journal proclaimed recently: " Olli Soikelli is a riveting Finnish guitarist who combines astonishing dexterity and speed with pure soul in a way that places him among the worthiest current day successors to the legacy of the great Django". Don't miss these fabulous jazz musicians on stage at OCA! Fine Refreshments for sale. Cabaret and Concert seating. Wheelchair accessible.
