EVIL DEAD, THE MUSICAL
Our latest incarnation includes a new set, some new cast members and a new twist on the Splatter Zone which is now known as THE PIT.
Five college students spend the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods, accidentally unleashing an evil terror. In this comedic take on 1980s horror franchise, characters and demons sing and dance to songs written specifically for the musical. And, as in the films, Ash is there to dish out his various one liners and fight the never ending demons. The musical takes creative liberty with the plot line of the movies, mixing together the characters and concepts of all three, as well as changing sequences for the sake of the stage and comedic intent. This time around, Bootless stages its sell-out show in our very own theater with a new blood delivery system that guarantees the MOST SPLATTER EVER.
Review by Sara Gates (Philadelphia Horror Examiner) as to Bootless' Evil Dead, The Musical: "Bootless in Northern Delaware has had a pretty bizarre show to show; part horror movie, part parody, all musical. And all awesome! Evil Dead: the Musical is one of the most interesting stage shows you can hope to see. Taking a classic horror movie series and rewriting, revamping, and putting it to music, you can be assured to have a good time. The show itself is amazing. Quick to point out plot holes and inconsistencies in the original movies, it is both a remake and a parody of itself. The songs are surprisingly remarkable, catchy, and well-thought out. The dialog is amazing, though vulgar (so I wouldn't recommend taking people that are far too impressionable). The show is an incredibly fun time, and definitely deserves to be sold out.
