Taddrarite Bats - Part of In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY
Taddrarite - pipistrelli ("Taddrarite bats," Accura Teatro Company; by Luana Rondinelli, with Claudia Gusmano, Luana Rondinelli, Anna Clara Giampino.) Domestic violence against women is tackled with irony and Sicilian dialects in a show that reminds us of the film "The Seduction of Mimi." The action takes place during a metaphorical wake, where three sisters find the courage and sarcasm to reveal the domestic violence that they never before dared to discuss. Winner of the 2014 Rome International Fringe Festival, Critics' Choice in the International competition "etica in atto per la nuova drammaturgia 2013," selected as part of 2014 "Trame d'Autore" where it was presented in collaboration with the Rome Fringe Festival.
