WYOmericana Caravan featuring The Patti Fiasco, Screen Door Porch, & Canyon Kids
Described as "a traveling concert circus of sorts" by The New York Times, the WYOmericana Caravan Tour is an annual, rolling representation of Wyoming's burgeoning songwriter scene. From acoustic to electric music representing roots-rock, Americana, folk, blues, indie, country, and bluegrass, the eclectic tour began in spring 2012 with the format of three acts "caravanning" down the road together, performing individual sets, with a heap of ad-libbed collaborations between bands. A "Last Waltz" style encore with all members of the tour (as many as a dozen) closes each show, adding a camaraderie element absent from most modern day traveling shows.
The tour was named Top Arts/Entertainment Event of 2013 by Wyoming's largest print newspaper, Casper Star-Tribune, and received a tremendous amount of support from the broader Square State community including Wyoming Public Radio and Wyoming Arts Council.
The nature of the WYOmericana Caravan Tour extends beyond the music. The tour partners each year with several Wyoming-based brands and non-profits, including the conservation-focused Wyoming Nature Conservancy.
