SINGING AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD by Randy Rutherford at The Marsh Berkeley
Back in the 1970s, Randy had it all an adoring girlfriend, a shiny new convertible, a full-time job as folksinger at the Fancy Moose Saloon in Anchorage, Alaska. Then congenital hearing loss sucked the sound from his world . . . forever.
What do you do when a wall of silence comes between you and your dreams? Sure, it might have been easier to just drop the guitar and stay cocooned in a tiny trailer, watch TV and eat chocolate Ho Ho's for the rest of his life, but thanks to the miracle of digital hearing aids and a lifetime of devoted finger-picking, Rutherford (who has won Best of Fringe on the North American Fringe Festival circuit no less than twenty one times) has been able to overcome the cruel trick fate played on him to become an award-winning theatre artist. Filled with imagery, honesty, humor and song, SINGING AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD is an inspiring tale of one man's ability to overcome adversity.
