Dan Savage & Terry Miller: It Gets Better
The It Gets Better Project began with a short video, posted on YouTube by Stranger editor and columnist Dan Savage and his husband, Terry Miller, as a way of reaching out to lesbian, gay, bi and transgendered youth after the suicides of a number of young people who'd been bullied committed suicide. The phenomenal responsenow more than 10,000 videos posted by adults (including Tim Gunn, Hillary Clinton, and President Barack Obama) and teens telling their life stories and sending encouragementis testament that it does get better. KUOW reporter Liz Jones interviews Savage and Miller about the project's beginning and their new book, It Gets Better.
