CACTUS AND SUCCULENTS 101 - Saturday June 27 10am-1pm
If you still want to garden during California's drought don't miss this course about the plants you can grown without feeling guilty.
A basic introduction to Cactus and Succulents will explain how to successfully grow them either in containers or home landscapes. Differences between Cactus and Succulent plants will be explained. You'll learn about basic care, watering, light, ventilation, soil mixes, container types, fertilizing, and pests. There will be potting demonstrations and a garden tour of the more than 500 different species of Cactus and Succulents your instructor currently grows.
Taking this course will open up a new world of opportunities to have a beautiful and unique garden without using lots of water.
Instructor Kathie Matsuyama is a California Registered Landscape Architect with a degree in Environmental Planning and Management from UC Davis. She is VP of the Central Coast Cactus and Succulent Society and has worked for the Land Conservancy of SLO County and as Acting Director of the Guadalupe Nipomo Dunes Center.
