STIFF Licks presents Chris Mess and H is for Hellgate
The band that is Chris Mess has a sound firmly rooted in the indie punk aesthetic, with a smattering of absurdity and vocal craziness a la The Mars Volta or The Darkness. The Chris Mess EP has received airplay on KEXP 90.3 FM's "Audio Oasis".
H is for Hellgate - "The Seattle Quartetâs new album on Stereotype records is a compelling work. Jamie Henkensiefken wrote and engineered a CD that runs through many genres. The music is as much progressive, as it is indie-rock. It has danceable hooks and progressive breaks. The music is tight, the songwriting is excellent" - Disheveled
"I would call them indie rock, but I think that'd make them sound more spineless than they actually are, so I won't." - The Stranger
