S. Carey
"Using only a piano, guitar, and drums, Carey creates a sound that is simultaneously austere and lush, pitting each instrument against the others." - Pitchfork
"This is intimacy on a purely aural level, the ultimate headphones album. The intimacy doesn't come from quietness, but from reactive, well-built and emotive arrangements." - BBC Music
"All We Grow is a meditative record, one you'll want to hear on headphones on a quiet night. Carey has a gift for crafting expansive, cinematic pieces that unfold and bloom slowly and delicately, so be sure to take some time with it." - NPR
"The gentle hush of Carey's songs masks a subtle sophistication that recalls Spirit of Eden-era Talk Talk, or Gastr De Sol's Camofleur, while the desolate ache of closer Broken - haunted and beautiful like Radar Bros - proves the quietest notes can be the most resonant. Gently is how Carey does it, and he does it well." - MOJO

Other Lives
American indie pop outfit Other Lives formed as an instrumental project in 2004 under the name Kunek. Based in Stillwater, OK, Kunek (who eventually added vocals to the mix) released one album (Flight of the Flynns) for Play Tyme Records in 2006 before making the transition to the similarly themed Other Lives. The group's eponymous debut album was produced and recorded by drummer/engineer Joey Waronker (Walt Mink, Beck R.E.M.) and released in late 2008.
