Taming the Wild Yeast: Building a Starter
Is sourdough bread really that hard to make? Can you actually make your own "sourdough starter?" How can you keep that wild thing alive anyway? Find out the answers to these questions and many more in the first of this two part bread baking series with one-man Mission bakery Josey Baker. In this hands-on 1.5 hour workshop for novices and experienced home bakers, Josey will explain starters and how to make your own at home with nothing more than flour and water. He will simplify and demystify the "feeding" schedule, show you how to use your starter to make bread dough. We'll even roll our sleeves up and knead some dough. We're going over the basics and digging deep. YES!
