A Bench at the Edge by Luigi Jannuzzi
CROSSFADE Theatre present: A Bench at the Edge by Luigi Jannuzzi Directed by Nicola Todd 11th-13th June 2015
CROSSFADE Theatre are a Glasgow-based theatre company who specialise in staging small-scale productions of original work and contemporary texts, in particular pieces that highlights issues related to mental health. We aim to tackle the stigma of mental health issues, shed light on topics that you don't often see staged, and encourage young people to open up about their own experiences.
Our first full project is a production of A Bench at the Edge by award-winning American playwright Luigi Jannuzzi. The play is a two-hander that explores ideas surrounding suicide, death, and the abyss - what drives people to the edge, and what makes them want to keep on living.
Awards for A Bench at the Edge: Winner! Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival Winner! 2012 Whitemoss Trophy (UK) Winner! 2007 Best Play at All Ireland Finals, Rossmore, Ireland Winner! 2007 Best Play at Scottish Community Drama One Act Festival, East Kilbride, Scotland Winner! 2001 Best Play: British One-Act Finals
Praise for Luigi Jannuzzi and A Bench at the Edge: NY Theatre: "Jannuzzi brings quirky, imaginative perspective." Los Angeles Times: "Pretention is avoided with ingenious narrative turns and electric repartee." Dramalogue: "Dialogue riddled with humour and empathy for the human condition and the decisions of life and death. [A Bench at the Edge] is a fine piece of writing." © 2015 Microsoft Terms Privacy & cookies Developers English (United Kingdom)
