Peter Case

Three-time Grammy nominee and acclaimed singer-songwriter Peter Case has carved out an impressive niche for himself. His dynamic, emotionally charged musical blend reveals the wide terrain Peter has ranged since he began performing in the mid-sixties, including stints with the groundbreaking punk band The Nerves and with new wave pioneers The Plimsouls, before he took a dive into the deep end of folk music over a decade ago.
Poignant and witty, and full of the sting and liberating spirit of the blues, Peter's music runs the gamut, from the black clay of his native Buffalo to the thrill of Memphis to sweet moments atop a southern mountain peak. Peter produced the acclaimed album Avalon Blues: A Tribute to the Music of Mississippi John Hurt (Vanguard), and his 2007 release Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Traditional Folk Album category. His most recent solo release, WIG! returns to the raucous blues rock of his seminal bands.
