"Described as stylistically something like "Dixieland on acid", CTP have a proclivity for wearing bright-colored pajamas, tag-sale gag hats, being profoundly irreverent, and doing generally whatever the heck they want. They are, to a person, virtuoso players, expertly handling Chander Travis' brilliant pop tunes and various members' arrangements of oddities from the 40's to today, all whilst maintaining a constant low-level riot onstage. They exist somewhere on the continuum among middle period Kinks, any-period NRBQ, maybe a pinch of Sufjan Stevens, and every Grammy winner in every category in the history of the world." Paul Rapp
The CTP has accrued a die-hard underground following, with three official albums on the market and another twenty un-official, the most recent being "Chandler Travis Blows," a reference to the bands' signature horn section. While recognizing that this band pushes the boundaries of more conventional music enthusiasts, we here at Caffè Lena firmly believe that our audience is well-populated with the sort of true-blue music nuts that crave extraordinary, mind-blowing experiences that leave one craving more, and soon. Chandler Travis fits the bill perfectly.
