"CERTAIN MAGIC! Hoban, Holt and O'Rourke impressively take on much more than the accents of the shifting places and times. A LOT OF FUN!" - Maine Today Magazine, June 3, 2015
Dramatic Repertory Company presents the New England Premiere of THE (curious case of the) WATSON INTELLIGENCE by Madeleine George directed by Keith Powell Beyland with James Noel Hoban*, Christopher Holt and Janice O'Rourke
Assistants...we all need them, and we crave the company of those people and machines who can help us. George's Pulitzer Prize-Finalist comedy follows just a few of those indispensable souls embodied by a single name: Watson.
Watson: trusty sidekick to Sherlock Holmes; loyal engineer who built Bell's first telephone; unstoppable super-computer that became reigning "Jeopardy!" champ; amiable techno-dweeb who, in the present day, is just looking for love. These four constant companions become one in this brilliantly phantasmagorical, witty, time-jumping, loving tribute (and cautionary tale) dedicated to the people - and machines - upon which we all depend.
DRC proudly presents this New England Premiere production - with an incredible design team and an all alumni cast! Christopher Holt (Equivocation, Swimming in the Shallows) takes on "Watson," with Janice O'Rourke (CONTRACTions, Swimming in the Shallows) as "Eliza," and James Noel Hoban (Gross Indecency) as "Merrick."
