The Adoption Play Project
Wonderlust Productions is creating a new play about, for, and with the adoption community; a play that tells stories, in the voices from the adoption community. Please join us for a reading of the newly created Adoption Play Project script!
After collecting stores from 150+ adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents, siblings, and social workers, we've woven the narratives together into a script. This reading is the next step in a process that will eventually lead to a fully-staged production, and it's an important step.
The script at this point will be its freshest and rawest. Feedback from attendees, particularly from members of the adoption community, will help us move the play forward. Read more about the Adoption Play Project at wonderlustproductions.org
A blend of professional actors and adoption community members will present this work in progress. Join us Saturday and Sunday May 30th and 31st to hear our new play about adoption read out loud for the first time!
On Sunday May 30th, the reading will be ASL-interpreted by Jo Lum and Katie Johnson.
Both shows are at 3pm. No one will be turned away, but we're suggesting a $10 donation for each ticket to help cover the costs of the professional script development. If you have a little extra money, feel free to opt for the $20 ticket to help make this reading accessible. You may reserve space at the reading online here, or pay cash at the door.
Seating is limited.
The Foss Center of Augburg College is right on the corner of Riverside and 22nd in Minneapolis. The space is fully accessible to those with disabilities. If help with transportation if needed, let us know - we're usually able to assist.
Parking is available in pay lots no more than a block from the theater, at meters on the street, and at some free street spaces.
