Joey Pipia's HeadTrip
Joey Pipia's "HeadTrip," Mind-Magic Show Two Brand New Effects Sat. May 9, 8 pm (Last Show Till After Summer)
Expect a dazzling display of mind magic in, HeadTrip, a one-act journey through the depths of the human brain, playing at The Chameleon Theater, Saturday, May 9th 8 pm. This show may return after the summer. Pipia will tour Alaska mid June to mid July, but this may be the last performance of this show, he says, so see it now!
Indeed, in HeadTrip, minds are read (and minds are blown), but you needn't worry, this wily mind-reader knows better then to "read and tell," and instead promises a riotous good time, and all in good fun.
"The human mind, says Pipia, is truly something at which to marvel." He adds, "in traditional magic, an object changes from one thing to another. A billiard ball to an egg, for example. In HeadTrip, the only thing that will change is your mind."
Two new mind blowing effects originally slated for the show are back in. One retells a psychic journey that involves a game of poker, and the other, well, you just need to be there. Indeed, on board is Pipia's version of a séance, and a rip-roaring, winner take all game of musical chairs which involves volunteers form the audience.
Pipia's intimate magic show, The Magic Chamber enjoyed a yearlong, sold out run here in Port Townsend. Joey toured that show throughout the Pacific Northwest, culminating in a three week run at Seattle's Intiman Theatre.
Pipia is a central performer, writer, and producer of the legendary Stage Left Vaudeville Show at The Oregon Country Fair. His escape from a straightjacket while hanging 80 feet above Water Street in downtown Port Townsend was featured on Seattle NPR's KUOW Presents, he performs at the international Moisture Festival, with NANDA, and tours regularly with The New Old Time Chautauqua and The Flying Karamazov Brothers.
He has appeared in film, on TV, and on stages across the country.
Joey Pipia's HeadTrip plays for one night only, Saturday, May 9th at 8 pm. The Chameleon Theater is an intimate venue, so you should call now. Tickets can be purchased online, or by calling 360-774-2202 for reservations. More information can be found about Joey Pipia at www joeypipia.com.
