Jibz Cameron (Dynasty Handbag) is a performance and video artist who lives and works in New York. In 2006 she released her first Dynasty Handbag record entitled "Foo Foo Yik Yik". Her performance and video work has been seen at such institutions as Dance Theater Workshop, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, NY, The Kitchen, OUTFest Los Angeles, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco. Dynasty Handbag performances have been heralded by the New York Times as "the funniest and most pitch perfect performance seen in years" and a "crackpot genius" by the Village Voice. She is the recipient of the 2007 Fresh Tracks Artist in Residency Award at Dance Theater Workshop and the 2008 recipient of the Franklin Furnace Fund grant for the performing arts. She is currently an adjunct professor of Performance Composition at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Performance Studies Graduate Program.
The Fresh Produce Festival of Live Art is taking place at The Fridge Gallery in Washington, DC in February 2011. The Fridge will be welcoming over 60 local and national performance artists to come and express themselves with absolute freedom. Experience a month of theater, music, dance, poetry, magic, experimental gatherings, and that which cannot be explained. The Festival Kicks off on Friday, February 4, 2011 and runs through the end of the month.
