PULSE on HEALTH
Join us for a fun and active morning of learning at this hands-on workshop featuring a 4th grade garden-based, STEM-focused curriculum that meets the new Next Generation Science Standards, Washington State Health Standards, and Common Core Math Standards. This pulse-focused curriculum "PULSE on HEALTH" combines school garden activities with classroom lessons and a meal that features youth-appealing pulse recipes, and it's FUN!!
Jody Dylan, award winning science teacher from Mt Erie Elementary School in Anacortes, will present on successful strategies and techniques for incorporating the curricula in classroom learning.
Participants will receive a copy of the curriculum, have an opportunity to explore 3 interactive lesson plans with activities, and share with peers strategies for successful implement in the classroom. Participants will also receive bean seed and a planting/production guide.
Come join us on Friday, May 15 from 9am to 12pm at the WSU Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center (NWREC) at 16650 State Route 536, Mount Vernon (http://mtvernon.wsu.edu/drivingdirections.html). Space is limited.
