June 16th, 2015 marks the release of Year of the Hare on Deathwish Inc., the seventh 12" single in Fucked Up's "Zodiac" series, a collection of records that finds the band pushing the boundaries of their already ambitious sound. To mark the occasion, Fucked Up will expand their live lineup to 9 members by including friends DOOMSQUAD to embark on a string of exclusive Zodiac shows. Fucked Up will perform a different set of Zodiac songs each night; many of these songs have never been played live before, and this tour will allow the band to flex a more improvisational and experimental muscle, while retaining all of the power and frenzy of a Fucked Up show.
Dark new agers DOOMSQUAD re-code the electronic music narrative with a more worldly and cosmological presence than the genre would normally dictate. Their songs are rich in variance and full of vividness, spanning across their entire debut LP Kalaboogie . Drawing in guitar, flute, percussion and synth, the Montreal and Toronto-based siblings Allie, Jaclyn and Trevor Blumas act as aural anthropologists, teaming relics of cross cultural traditions like chanting and repetition over seismic ripples of deep bass.
