Over the past sixty-five years the United Nations has been held both in esteem and contempt by the sovereign nations that constitute it as well as the peoples they represent. What are the truths regarding the u.N.'S role and responsibilities? How effective is the United Nations in promoting freedom and human rights? Does the United Nations serve American values and interests? Is the United Nations corrupt?
Ultimately, is it now time for the United States to challenge the United Nations and to consider multilateral alternatives to this institution?
