Foxtrot Foxtrot Whiskey
FOXTROT FOXTROT WHISKEY is the latest piece from performance-system engineers Douglas Eacho, Jessica Goldschmidt, Emily Oliveira, and Edward Sturtevant, last at CPR with 'Science Fiction' and 'Someday This Country.' FFW gives control of three strong, militaristic performers over to a computer program, which will spit out text from "No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission that Killed Osama Bin Laden" into the performers' headphones, along with instructions for movement, music, and dance that will work itself out differently each night. Our culture's fascination with the professionalism and eroticism of the Black Ops military world, as seen in Zero Dark Thirty, American Sniper, video games, and countless TV shows, is distilled and critiqued as an algorithm fast-forwards our performers through the story of the Bin Laden raid in chaotically shifting iterations.
