Hone your Pitch with Scary Cow's own Alexa Fraser-Herron!
This class will help students prepare for this Sunday's pitch meeting. Learn how to deliver a pitch that attracts the collaborative crew needed to make your film come to life.
Being a Scary Cow member herself, Alexa brings a wealth of observations and experience to the table, offering a class tailor-made for both new and seasoned members who are interested in building and refining their pitching techniques.
You are encouraged to bring any ideas and film pitches for the workshop portion of the class!
Highlights include: - Essential components of a pitch - Common mistakes to avoid - Identifying and expressing the theme of your story - Generating excitement - How the pitch process in Scary Cow works - What makes a pitch stand out to your fellow Scary Cow members - Constructive feedback on your pitch
Instructor Bio: Alexa Fraser-Herron pitched Eat Pray Whatever her first time out in Round 7. Despite being new to Scary Cow and unknown to virtually all of it's members at the time, she rallied a small crew and won budget with the short when it debuted at the Castro Theatre. She's kept busy ever since, helming her own projects as well as lending support to many award winning productions within Scary Cow. With a background in fine art and critique, Alexa brings a unique perspective to filmmaking and its myriad processes along with a warm and humorous approach in aiding Scary Cow members to make their films, and be scary.
Alexa holds a BFA in Interdisciplinary Fine Art from the San Francisco Art Institute (Fred Ritzenberg's alma mater!) and bears an invisible certificate of awesomeness from Kerri Kuchta and Jager McConnell.
