Event
Feralia Deceptiva
As the moth is drawn to the flame,
we draw together to rememberance of
greatest journey of all...
You are invited to celebrate this time with you friends at Seattle's second oldest theater, Washington Hall, where Jazz once ruled and Jimi Hendrix found his sounds. This is a costume ball, a masquerade whith a focus on dance featuring the music of Seattle's Tribal Underground DJ's. Due to the nature of word of mouth promotion, you can expect a strong, tight, friendy vibe where you can find yourself among old friends and new.
Please invite those who you know need to be here. This will be a night to remember.
What does "Feralia Deceptiva" mean?
By 43 A.D. the Romans had conquered much of the Celtic territory. During the 400 years that they ruled, two Roman festivals were combined with the Celtic celebration of Samhain. These Roman festivals were Feralia and Pomona. Feralia was a festival held in late October when the Romans would commemorate the passing of the dead. The name is similar to the the word fero, to carry the dead in arms.
The Feralia Deceptiva [Noctuidae] is a large species of moth found feeding on the canopies of old growth wet woodlands throughout the Pacific Northwest.
