Dr. Horrible, an aspiring supervillain with his own video blog, is attempting to join the prestigious Evil League of Evil (led by the legendary "thoroughbred of sin", Bad Horse), but his plans are usually foiled by the egotistical superhero Captain Hammer. Horrible's life is thrown for a loop when he falls in love with Penny, a beautiful and optimistic advocate for the homeless he meets at the laundromat, a situation which complicates itself even further when Penny begins dating the boorish, oafish Hammer after he apparently saves her life. Faced with the task of impressing the League, can Horrible overcome his own incompetence to ruin the day, kill the hero, and still get the girl?

This stage production is Produced/Directed/adapted by Andy Lowe (former Artistic Director and founder of the San Diego Asian American Repertory Theatre) who has assembled a team of fans and friends, who also happen to be accomplished theatre artists; including musical arrangements and orchestrations by Musical Director Brian Hammond, sets by Scenic Designer David F. Weiner (700 Sundays - La Jolla Playhouse and Broadway), Projection Design by Michael Lowe (YellowFace - Mo'olelo), Lighting design by Chris Rynne (Plaid Tidings - the Old Globe Theatre), Sound Design by Paul Peterson (How the Grinch Stole Christmas-the Old Globe Theatre), costumes by Jannifer Mah (the Crucible - MOXIE/Intrepid), and introducing choreographer Karen Li (UCSD).
The cast includes San Diego Music Award Nominee Jane Lui (www.janelui.com)in the female lead "Penny," Michael Minto as the blustery Captain Hammer and Nathan Turner in the title role of Dr. Horrible. How do we buy the combo tickets? |

Patrons who would like to see both shows may purchase a "COMBO TICKET." Please select the date and time of the Dr. Horrible performance you would like to attend. Your computer print out ticket will be accepted for any performance of GAM3RS: the Play. at least one member of your party must have a photo I.D. that matches the name printed on your ticket or receipt. |

Re: Dr. Horrible live...it says it's kid friendly, so why must you be 13 years old to see the show? My 10 year old loves it and I was going to bring her :( |

Hi there, Thanks for asking, There are PLENTY of younger Dr. Horrible fans out there, and we welcome them, however there are some parents who are concerned by some of the language, specifically probably one of the funniest lines in the show ("the hammer is my penis...") so for those parents, we have stated the SUGGESTED minimum age... but be assured, I expect your daughter will not be the only person under 13 coming to the show. |

You can purchase tickets for Dr. Horrible Only on any performance date EXCEPT for July 17th Opening night. If you'd like to see just the one show, you may select any other available performance date. Online advance sales are $30. Hope that answers your question! thanks! |
