Filmshift 2011 - March Film Screening
In our 2nd year, the Filmshift Festival has expanded to include a few "One Night Only" screenings that will lead up to to our main festival in October 2011.  All proceeds from these events will be donated to different charities, starting with The Friday Night Supper Program.

Our March screening features 3 fantastic offerings:

"Art From The Streets" - A Documentary that follows the lives of handful of people who create and share their art at a resource/community center for homeless individuals.

"The Legacy" - An imaginative short film produced by Filmshift Director, Jeremy Jed Hammel, that recently won the Best Comic Related Film at Comic Con 2010.  It's about a young boy who believes his father is a Super Hero.

And as a bonus, singer/songwriter Kate Vargas will open the event with an acoustic set of her songs as well as some classics.

ABOUT FNSP
The mission of the Friday Night Supper Program (FNSP) is to provide a warm nutritious meal to anyone in need in a safe and dignified environment every Friday night.

The Friday Night Supper Program was co-founded in 1984 by Arlington Street Church and Dignity Boston. Our dedicated team of volunteers has served over 7,800 meals to disadvantaged people every Friday evening, never missing one single Friday, serving on holidays and through snow, storms, and power outages for 25 years. Each guest is served a nutritious three course meal consisting of soup, dinner and dessert at their table by our courteous volunteer servers. Our Guest Clothing Closet provides clothing, shoes, toiletries and other essential items to our guests following meal service. The City of Boston's annual homeless census, reported in January 2008, estimated that there are 6,900 homeless individuals in Boston, a significant increase from a decade ago.

On average, FNSP serves 150 guests each Friday night from various backgrounds including veterans, those coping with AIDS, mental illness or substance abuse, youth living on the streets, elderly, disabled, abused women, individuals who are jobless, minimally employed, or living below the poverty level.
