LIVE MERMAIDS LIVE: last call at The Sand Bar
LIVE MERMAIDS LIVE is a mixtape musical based on the original text of Hans Christian Anderson's gruesome Littlest Mermaid story.
With contributions from 10 hot young composers whose styles range from folk to musical theatre, LIVE MERMAIDS LIVE tells HCA's story through an evening at "The Sand Bar," a dive where washed up sirens go to sing the blues.
The ingenious Jeremy Bloom (Drama League Fellow, Walt and Emily) directs and adapts this tale of physical oddity and emotional longing at the jewel-box Los Kabayitos theatre at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center for two weekends in February (Feb 4, 8pm + 10pm, Feb 5, 8pm + 10pm, Feb 10, 8pm, Feb 11, 8pm +10pm, Feb 12, 8pm + 10pm)
Tickets are $10 friends / $15 supporters / $30 patrons
