Metro Artists concert: Kelly, The Shortleaf Band & special guests Taylor Sullivan & Gordon Bearss
Kelly features some of the finest players of Trad Irish music KC has to offer. Led by the lilting voice of Kelly Dougherty, the band offers the melodic, foot tapping sound of Mike Dugger on guitar and box, Turlach Boylan on tin whistle, flute and mandolin, Mason Brown on viola de gamba and guitar, and Dave Agee on fiddle. Although Kelly is newly-formed, its members are all seasoned veterans of the Irish and Celtic music scene and have lent their talents to a host of excellent recordings in other groupings.
The Shortleaf Band has a wonderfully unique sound, playing American fiddle tunes in a driving, danceable, Ozarks style and Irish tunes in arrangements that still make heads turn when people hear this music. Michael Fraser on fiddle, Tenley Hansen on piano/vocals, Joe Conklin on guitar/vocals and Kevin Foiles on bodhran.

Don't miss Missouri State Junior Fiddle Champion Taylor Sullivan's debut public fiddle performance! Taylor is backed by Gordon Bearss, long time member of Nine Mile Burn, on guitar.
The Shortleaf Band and Taylor Sullivan & Gordon Bearss will open the evening and Kelly will close it.
