Event
Southern Crescent Chorale's The Fabulous Fifties Concert
Eugene Tompkins will be singing his signature song "If I Didn't Care" as well as other Doo Wop favorites like The Magic Touch, In the Still of the Night. He'll also sing Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, and Blueberry Hill among others.
Nathan Phillips will be singing several Elvis hits as well as the Jerry Lee Lewis hit "Great Balls of Fire" and the Big Bopper hit "Chantilly Lace".
Don McSwain Band will again accompany the Chorale. An expert saxophone player, Don and the rest of the band plus the expert playing of Dr. Amy Foster will add to the authentic flavor of the event.
Doors open at 7:00 so come early to view vintage cars from the 50âs and listen to pre-concert music from the decade. Catering will be provided by Back Yard Burger. In addition, patrons will be allowed to bring their own food and beverage refreshments as allowed by the amphitheater. More information may be obtained by visiting http://www.villagesamphitheater.com/home.php?id=1.
The dance floor will be open all evening and there will be a special call out dance in honor of the class of 1957. We are hoping that all that year's grads will hit the dance floor for their special song.
Come dressed in 50's attire for a chance to enter a drawing for 2 to the upcoming Lee Greenwood Concert to be held at The Villages Amphitheater June 30th.
