Slow Food Yolo and Capay Valley Grown Present The Whole Steer Picnic
Slow Food Yolo has purchased a grass-fed and grain finished Angus steer from rancher Fred Manas. The 21-day, dry-aged beef from our steer will be divvied up into 10 lbs./per ticket of flash-frozen, vacuum packed 2-lb portions. We will serve Manas Angus hamburgers, hot off the grill with side dishes provided potluck from Slow Food members and guests.
In Slow Food Yolo style, bring your picnic hamper with place settings, napkins, silverware, drinking glass and your. We will provide water - please bring your own beverage.
Bring appetizers, a salad, a side dish or a dessert to share pot luck style. After lunch at the ranch, weâll tour the Manas Ranch with Fred. Afterward you will pick up the hamburger you ordered, flash-frozen, vacuum-packed. Bring a cooler with blue ice to bring home your beef. This event is hosted in collaboration with Capay Valley Grown.
