Bert Jansch and special guest Alec K Redfearn
A rare opportunity to see the amazing BERT JANSCH of The Pentangle perform in an intimate small venue setting! WOW. "As much of a great guitar player as Jimi [Hendrix] was, Bert Jansch is the same thing for acoustic guitar...and my favorite." (Neil Young).
BERT JANSCH, legendary songwriter and guitarist, is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential musicians of all time. Since the mid 1960s generation after generation have been enraptured and amazed by his extraordinary groundbreaking guitar playing and classic emotive songs.
Jimmy Page, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Johnny Marr, Bernard Butler and Beth Orton have all been devotees, and today another new generation of musicians and fans, led by Devendra Banhart, are discovering Jansch for themselves.
The most recent BERT JANSCH album, "The Black Swan" is on Drag City Records, released in late 2006 with guest performances by Beth Orton, Devendra Banhart and members of Mazzy Star and The Espers. Sanctuary Records (UK) also released the four-disc Pentangle box set in March 2007. "The Time Has Come 1967â1973" covers the original Pentangle's six year career as jazz/folk fusion pioneers and darlings of both the underground and mainstream music worlds.

There will be a short opening set from ALEC K. REDFEARN - a composer/songwriter/free improviser/accordionist etc. who has been playing in and around Providence, RI for close to 15 years. He has played in over 30 bands and been involved with dozens of theatre, dance, and film collaborations. He is predominantly self taught and he tends to work with musicians of all calibers. His songs, compositions and accordion playing are fiercely individual and his music has been very difficult to categorize. Alec's 6th full-length release, "The Blind Spot" was just released on Cuneiform Records in May 2007.
