sfSoundSeries
sfSoundSeries presents a program of challenging contemporary music dating from the present to 1930. The highlight of the evening is Morton Feldman's 45-minute "Clarinet and String Quartet" - a haunting and rarely performed work by one of the 20th Century's most innovative composers. The concert also features the premiere of "Liquid Refrains", a new work for 13 players by local composer/pianist Christopher Jones co-commissioned by sfSound and the Koussevitsky Music Foundation. Rounding out the program is Anton Webern's classic "Quartet, Op. 22" and a free improvisation by sfSoundGroup.
