Soltero
A work by Jaime Carrera
Marriage is a myth and not everybody wants it.
When you stop believing the lie that there is that one person out there with
whom you'll spend the rest of your life, you truly learn to depend on
yourself only.
In his first full stage show, Jaime Carrera explores several facets of
living as a single gay male, through personal autobiographical experiences.
From doomed relationships to self-sabotage to one-night stands, situations
are presented as untidy as they happen in real life and with no filter.
Mixing performance, art, music, and video, the collected stories of someone
who rejects the notion that he needs to be completed by anybody else are
revealed with honesty and unselfconsciousness.
Featuring performances by Tim Carroll (from the band Faggot), Rai Flynn,
David Joe Holiday (from the band Belles Of Skin City), Nick Howard, Ivan
Idland, and Megan Mayer.
Plus, video by Sean M. Johnson and Phiam MacDeo.
