The New New News examines journalism in the age of new media, paying special attention to the implications to information and democracy created by the collapse of newspapers, the 24-hour news cycle and the demands of monetizing media. The play follows the staff of The New New News, an online news provider dedicated to coverage of online news, after their primary financier has given them just 12 hours to double website traffic or be shut down. Coverage of the Maurice Clemmons manhunt and the Seattle Times' subsequent Pulitzer, NW sportswriting legend Art Thiel's efforts to launch and monetize his own sports site, hyper-local political bloggers, live-and-mobile streaming and the ascendance of Twitter underscore The New New News crews' efforts to create immediate and compelling news. The New New News examines the choices journalists make when their livelihood is on the line and success is measured by the eyeball and the minute.
This newest Living Newspaper will once again be produced in cooperation with NSCC's theatre program (which is led by NewsWrights' producer Nichols), and will bring together professional actors with NSCC students. The professional cast includes Michelle Chiachiere, Mark Fullerton, Joe Ivy, Catherine Kettrick, Joseph P. McCarthy and Jordan Williams. Dan Schuy from NSCC serves as Technical Director, Lighting Designer and Set Designer.
All performances are Pay What You Can at the door. Reservations are available for $15. We will reserve a ticket in your name at the door until 5 minutes prior to the performance, at which time the reservation will be cancelled and the ticket will be released. No refunds. The price of your reservation will help pay our actors and support future editions of the Living Newspaper.

Q&A
Question: |
Thanks for the help on those extra dates! Now I have a different question: There are a group of us who'd like to buy tickets separately, yet sit together at the performance. How can we swing that? |
Answer: |
Hi, while we reserve tickets, we don't reserve particular seats. Once inside the theatre the seating is festival style. However, you and your friends should be able to find seats together with little difficulty. In fact, add a note to your order and we'll make sure the House Manager that night knows that there will be a group wanting to sit together - they should be able to help. |
