Orcas Island Garden Tour
The historic Crow Valley Pottery Garden is filled with artistic treasures from around the world, as well as heritage plants -- peonies, roses, hydrangeas, and thirty species of hosta. Look for the fern grotto, veggie and berry gardens, a contemplative garden, and, in the greenhouse, Jeffri's cactus collection.
The Indralaya Retreat Center attracts visitors from around the world. The 78-acre property is a sanctuary of natural beauty and serenity, with nearly a mile of shoreline, an historical orchard, a labyrinth, and an organic garden with 30 raised beds of veggies, herbs, and flowers.
Michael Sterling's 12-acre "Dream Ranch" includes a moon-gazing circle of 12-foot-high grasses, a veggie garden, rows and rows of berries, espaliered apples, a bog garden, propagation garden, labyrinth, gazebo, waterfalls, rocks, streams and gargoyles.
Owned by the Land Bank and managed by the Farm Stewards, the 185-acre Coffelt Farm is an island treasure beloved for its beauty, historical significance, and as an example of sustainable agriculture. Check out the farm animals and gardens featuring organic vegetables, flowers, and fruit.
Dick and Judy Evans' garden borders a small cove with a breathtaking view of Mt. Baker. The garden features both a woodland and perennial areas with hundreds of rhodies, roses, flowering trees, shrubs, and perennials. Peek inside the greenhouse, garden house, and the Winnie-the-Pooh house built for the grandchildren.
