2015 AIAMidTN BEC May Session

Join us in May as we continue the Building Enclosure Council series on Roofing. We are delighted to have guest speaker Samir Ibrahim of Carlisle Syntec a leading manufacturer of black and white single-ply membranes and Polyso/EPS insulation since 1980 share some of his knowledge and experience.

The mission of AIAMidTN BEC is to provide an interdisciplinary forum to promote and encourage discussion, training, education, technology transfer and the exchange of information. This includes local issues and cases, relevant weather and environmental conditions, and all matters concerning building enclosures (envelopes) and the related science in Middle Tennessee.

AIAMidTN BEC is a committee of the AIA Middle Tennessee Chapter enhancing the work of the AIAMidTN COTE.

About the Speaker:
Samir Ibrahim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering, from the University of Alexandria, Egypt. He is the Director of Design Services at Carlisle Syntec, and his group is responsible for Systems and Detail Development, and all code testing operations.

He is also the Developer and Coordinator of Carlisle Syntec Architectural, and Consulting Training Programs, and holds a patent on an Automated Seaming device for Thermoset applications.

In addition to Authoring and Co-Authoring on various papers, he has conducted several design presentations on many topics concerning industry issues. Samir is a member of the EPDM Roofing Association (ERA), the American Architectural Foundation, the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).
