Alvis LeGate directs this talented, all star cast in Simon's semi-autobiographical comedy set in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn, New York in September 1937. Max Freedman starts as Eugene Jerome, a Polish-Jewish teenager who's coming to age tale is told with the comic flair only Neil Simon can deliver. He experiences puberty and a search for his place in a blended household of two families. LeGacy co-founder and producer Sue LeGate plays Kate, Eugene's feisty mother and is paired with Matthew Marguiles (returning from his long vacation from stage as the owner/operator of Matteo's Public) as Jack, her honest, hard-working husband, struggling to support an extended family. Sara Noah (Christmas Carol, Barefoot in the Park) returns to LeGacy as Blanche, Kate's widowed sister, who is forced to move in with the Jeromes after her husband's death, bringing daughters Nora (Kendahl Landreth) and Laurie (Makenna Harrison). Rounding out the cast is Danny Haddon as Stanley, Eugene's "experienced" older brother, full of advice for Eugene.
