Ken Lavigne
Singer, composer, communicator and consummate entertainer, British Columbia's Ken Lavigne has charmed his way into the hearts of concert goers across North America with his sincere delivery of ballads, show tunes and classical crossover hits in the style of Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban. It's easy to see why one New York critic described him as having "a voice of liquid gold."
For the finale of its 25th concert season, Port Ludlow Performing Arts presents Lavigne's "The Road to Carnegie Hall." In his riveting and enchanting journey, he describes his personal campaign to sing at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops. It is an unbelievable account of a man who, against all odds, found a way to live out his dream of singing on the world's most prestigious concert stage. Told with spectacular songs and entertaining and hilarious stories, Lavigne embodies the spirit of the underdog audacity, tenacity, tragedy and ultimately... triumph.
Recognized early for the outstanding timbre of his lyric tenor voice as well as the ease and agility with which he sings, Lavigne's career has taken many directions that include being a founding member of The Canadian Tenors in 2004; and in 2006, a co-founder of the successful tenor trio, ROMANZA, that toured throughout Canada and the United States presenting hundreds of concerts. In 2007, he shifted his focus to independently producing solo performances and CD recordings that include "On the Street Where You Live," "Believe," "O Night Divine," "Keep Holding On" and "Showtime." His Christmas CD was released in the fall of 2014.
