Unity in the Community: Coalition Success Stories
Money can't buy everything - not when grassroots efforts take a stand together. Fighting big money and entrenched powers takes a unified stance and lots of people power. Come hear stories from three groundbreaking coalitions, including:
- The grassroots coalition in Richmond that took on big oil to elect progressive candidates
- The labor and community coalition in San Francisco that won major concessions from healthcare conglomerate CPMC
- The housing advocacy groups in San Mateo that are pushing for rent control against the real estate lobby
What made these coalitions successful, and how can we use these examples to build powerful coalitions in the future?
