The Ballad of Ramblin' Jack
RAMBLINâ JACK ELLIOTT Live and onstage for a Q&A Following the screening of the documentary THE BALLAD OF RAMBLINâ JACK Donât miss this great chance to see Grammy Award-winning, legendary folksinger/storyteller Ramblinâ Jack Elliott in person!
First coming onto the folk music scene in the late 1950s, and one-time traveling companion to Woody Guthrie, Ramblinâ Jack has inspired a whole army of musicians: mentoring Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie, inadvertently firing up the British Invasion (Elliott's "San Francisco Bay Blues" was one of the first songs Paul McCartney learned to play; Mick Jagger bought his first guitar after hearing Elliott busking on a train platform in London), and influencing several generations of songwriters and performers: Pete Seeger, Lou Reed, Van Morrison, Kris Kristoffersen, Robbie Robertson, the Grateful Dead, Bruce Springsteen and Beck.
